When my wife's parents made the move into a nursing facility, she didn't want to let go of the house she grew up in. So we decided to move into their home and put ours on the market. While the house was still in good condition, it needed a few changes made to it to accommodate our large family. We needed an extra bathroom and the basement had to be finished, so one of our teenagers could use it as a bedroom. We also added an enclosed porch out back, because we loved the one we had at our old home and made a few other small changes. In the end, the project cost less than we expected, which was great news! I learned a lot about construction during the process and decided to make a blog to share my new construction tips and tricks on!
